THE NEW SERVO: SB-3290 sg
With the new SB-3290SG servo, the Taiwanese manufacturer Savöx has once again achieved a revolution in servo drive technology. The newly developed eight-pole AC motor of this monster ensures not only a lower weight (72g) compared to its predecessor SB-2290SG (81g), but also higher performance and significantly lower heat production. After 5 minutes of operation, it remains up to 20% cooler than the SB-2290SG. This significant improvement means that the servo delivers maximum power for much longer and the model is significantly harder, more direct and more accurate.
Thanks to the latest technology, the SB-3290SG is significantly quieter and almost inaudible during normal operation. The well-known “beep” of digital servos has been almost eliminated without having to accept any disadvantages.
Especially in extreme flights with heavy loads, there is an unrivaled increase in performance. A completely new motor design with a newly developed 32-bit MCU (Motor Control Unit) brings with it many advantages that offer ambitious 3D and acrobatic pilots new options in flight.
In comparison, the quiescent current of the SB-3290SG is around 80mA, while the SB-2290SG requires around 250mA.
The lower weight is especially advantageous for large models weighing up to 25 kg. When installing the SB-3290SG servo in the elevator, the difference of 9 grams per servo is clearly visible, making it easier to find the ideal center of gravity.
The SB-3290SG has been tested for several months in countless tests by the best pilots in Germany and improved step by step until we reached the point where we can talk about a real revolution and not just a maintenance product!
To facilitate individual wiring, the negative pole of the cable is no longer completely black as on the SB-2290SG, but is now gray and therefore more distinguishable.
Of course, the SB-3290SG has a soft start, i.e. the servo slowly moves to the desired position as soon as power is applied/the receiver is turned on.
The SB-3290SG servo is suitable for use in helicopters, RC cars and fixed-wing models. In the near future, the patented SB-329X series will be expanded to include other types of servos.
